Learning to code with front-end developer languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript) is just another tool in a designer’s toolbox.

Specially aimed at designers and creatives, SuperHi is a great paid 8-week online course that can get you started with front-end development, but there are other great resources out there. Below is a mix of links to both front-end and back-end development resources, so check out Code School’s Beginner’s Guide to Web Development – it explains the basics of web development and points you in the right direction based on your goal.

w3schools.com: tutorials and training in web development and is a completely free developers resource. It also offers certificates in HTML, jQuery, etc.
